The Value of Music?

I recently have been thinking about music. For those of you lucky to see me in person, you have probably noiced I am am always with my Ipod. I am an OLD SCHOOL Ipodder. I bought my Ipod BEFORE I pods were considered cool. I was a trendsetter and others followed my lead. Thats right, I bought an ipod in 2001, when pretty much nobody owned one. 4 years later, Ipods are getting smaller and are something people are buying. Why becuase of me I am sure.

Okay enough Ego Building, lets get back to topic. I was thinking if the type of music we listen to can reveal something about ourselves. For example Arecertain people are drawn to certain kinds of music becuase there is something about it that they can identify with?

As for me, I have a very eclectic taste in music. I listen to Metal, Hard Rock, Rap, Country, Classical, and Jazz. What does this say about me? Does it say that I am a confused person searchign for myself within a plethora of choice? Does it say that I am an indecisive person simple unable to make up my mind as to what type of music I mostly identify with?

I also wonder if certain types of music can say something about a person's personality. A lot of country music tends to be of a depressing nature. Are people who are drawn to that genre a little depressed themselves? A lot of rap music tends to be of an aggressive nature. Does that mean that people drawn to that type of music tend to have an aggressive internal nature? I sometimes wonder about this as I listen to my super incredidble mixes as I walk to class or to work.

What do yall think? Do you think the type of music YOU listen to influcnes your personality? Do you think the music I listen to influences MY personality?

Discuss!

Please, Get out of Galveston NOW

For my boys and girls in Galveston, I make an impassioned plea: GET OUT OF GALVESTON NOW! I know that many of you might not want to leave your possesions or material objectives, but I think a little persepctive is in order. Possesions are just things. Lives are worth far more than a few meaningless trinkets. Please get out of there either tonight or tomorrow morning.

I wanted to let you know that all of you will be in my prayers this evening. I hope all of yall will be able to get out of Galveston and get to a safer location in time. I will pray for your saftey, the saftey of your family, and all those that will be effected. May God protect yall and deliver you from this Hurricane.

Take a Walk with Big Tex, Part 3

Well, well. I noticed you spent a lot of time with that guy making caricactures. Hope ypurs turned out well. is that it in your hand. Well, cmon, let me see it. Not bad, it actually looks more like you then mine does!

Lets walk down this path a little bit and look up. If you look up you can see part of downtown Chicago. The large building in the background is not atually the Sears Tower, it is the Hancock Tower. Many people(including me) mistook it for the Sears Tower as it bears a bit of a resemblance. The Sears Tower is actually further in Downtown near Clark Street. The Hancock Building is on Michigan Avenue which is just off Lake Shore Drive, as you can see.

If you move your gaze east (thats left), you will see the Lake Michigan as it nears Downtown Chicago. As you can see there are a lot of people sitting on the shore line enjoying the day. Some people are having a picnic while others are playing frisbee. Actually there is a pretty nice bike trail from the North end of Lake Shore to the South that you can do if you feel up to it. It is a great ride but a bit long(over 20+ miles) so plan ahead if you choose to do it.

If you look even further east(left again) you will see the world famous Navy pier Area. This is a part of Chicago which a lot of people come to for fun. There is a full size Ferris Wheel, lots of little shops, and other fun things to do. There are little restauraunts as well which can offer great views of Lake Michigan while you dine on good food. This is a place that many native Chicagoians consider an institution and a must if you visit.

Lets start heading back to my apartment. As we walk back up LSD, we can reminense and think back upon the great day we have had. We have had a chance to explore just a small section of chicago. There is so much more to see, but i will not be able to take you there, you will have to go for yourselves! Oh, and by the way, if you were ever wondering whatever happned to the brave crew of the 7 Castaways lost on a deserted island...

Been a while

Yup, I relaize it has been a while since my last post, so let me update you a little bit.

I have gone back to school and am taking 4 classes this quarter, plus working 2 days a week at my internship, so things are getting very very busy. Classes meet the days that I am not at the internship which makes life even more stressful. The professors seem decent and i know at least a person or two in each class, so that is reasonable. At least I know a few people there. Another plus is that on Wednesday, I have a 1230-330 and then a 6-9. In between classes, I can have some lunch and do some reading. While not an ideal solution it does work.

As I have mentioned before what goes on in practicum stays there, so due to confidentiality issues nothing will be posted about that here.

Thats all for now, but I will be back a bit later.

Are you back to school or off to work?
Let me know!

Holy crap! You are:

The one guy who EVERYONE wanted to see in the movies! Gambit just kicks
ass. If he can't obliterate someone by hucking kinetically charged
cards at them, he can beat them to death with his quarterstaff. AND
he's a pimp. So what are you doing on this site, anyway? Shouldn't you
be out stomping people's shit in right now?
